Step 1: Define What Success Looks Like to You
We believe your journey should begin with intention. With a wide range of beauty and wellness programs offered across three locations, Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee, it’s important to define your passions and set clear career goals. Doing so will help you select the program that best aligns with your vision of success and ensure you get the most from your experience.

Step 2: Tour your Campus
Based on what your vision of success looks like, there may be a campus that sticks out to you. In that case, it’s time to set up a tour! This will allow you to experience your future learning environment, discuss your goals, and ask questions.
What You Will Do On Your Tour:
- Review course catalog and curriculum
- Explore our programs
- Discuss admissions checklist
- Evaluate scholarship opportunities
- Receive school application
- Talk future careers
Step 3: Apply
Now it’s time to take the leap and apply to your chosen program. Whether you’re just starting out or transferring from another institution, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
How To Apply:
- Pay the application fee of $50 ($100 for transfer students)
- Submit proof of education
- Submit proof of age
- Entrance exam if applicable
Step 4: Tuition and Financial Aid
Paying for your education may feel overwhelming, but don’t worry, there are plenty of financial resources and scholarship opportunities available.
FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid
- Applicable for US citizens and some non-US citizens
- Loans and grants
Payment Plans
- Down payments, additional fees, remaining balance
- Student Obligation: Make all payments on-time without regard to individual’s financial aid or loan status

Your first day at IBW is more than a milestone, it’s the beginning of a transformation. Come prepared and confident. You’ve got this!
First-Day Checklist:
- Positive Attitude: This is everyone else’s first day too. You got this!
- Beauty Kit: Most schools provide one for you, but if you can become familiar with it, do so.
- Open Mind: Be open to exploring extracurricular activities, asking questions, and accepting feedback.
- School Supplies: Bring a couple of basics like notebooks, folders, and writing utensils. You can always add or remove to fit your learning style.
- Dress Code Approved: Most schools require all black attire but check to be sure.
- Self-Care: Being aware of your mindset and taking care of it will help you stay on track in your journey.
- Comfortable Shoes: You will be on your feet a lot, make sure you are comfortable in doing so.
