About the role
Aveda Institute Chicago is hiring a Custodian to help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming facility for students, guests, and team members, covering early morning sanitation, daytime upkeep, laundry, and light maintenance and repairs.
What you will do
- Early morning, 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM: sweep and mop classrooms, common areas, and restrooms, sanitize high touch surfaces, and reset spaces for the day
- Daytime, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM: spot clean common areas and restrooms, restock supplies, and manage laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, towels, and capes
- Perform minor repairs, such as fixing faucets, changing lightbulbs, and tightening fixtures
- Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to leadership
What we look for
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or maintenance experience preferred
- Basic handyman skills, including minor plumbing, lightbulb replacement, and general repairs, required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent routine
