Learn More About Our NAHA Winner

Q: WHERE IS YOUR IDEAL VACATION SPOT?

LAUREN: I travel a lot for work, so if I am on vacation I need it to feel very different than a work trip. My ideal vacation is ANYWHERE on a beach or at a pool with no schedule. I love to be in the sun reading book and relaxing with my family.

Q: WHO DO YOU WATCH FOR INSPIRATION? HOW DO YOU STAY INSPIRED?

LAUREN: Our industry is full of creative minds that always inspire me to think outside the box. But if I had to name one person, I watch for inspiration it would have to be my partner, Rodrick Samuels. He is the hardest working person I know. He motivates and inspires me to be the best that I can be.  I stay inspired by pushing myself to grow and try new things. By taking myself out of my comfort zone and learning new techniques I am always inspired to create looks using what I’ve learned.

Q: ON A PERFECT DAY I SPEND IT…

LAUREN: Shooting my work. I love the creative energy being on set with my team.

Q: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY?

LAUREN: The key to success is to show up early, leave your feelings at the door, and smile all the time, especially when you don’t want to.

Q: WHO ARE THE TOP 3 STYLISTS YOU WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH?

LAUREN: My top 3 are Vidal Sassoon, Guido, and Anne Veck

Q: HOW DO YOU USE YOUR TALENTS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

LAUREN: In addition to helping my clients love their hair, I look forward to going on the road to share what I have learned so that young stylists can learn from my mistakes, as well as my triumphs.

Q: HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN BALANCE?

Our NAHA winner, Lauren Moser, explains how she balances her life, work, and family.

LAUREN: Balance is different for everyone. Most people would look at my life and not see balance at all, but I love what I do, so next to my kids, hair is my priority. Whether I am working behind the chair, on the road teaching or working on set, or practicing on my mannequin, I am always thinking about work. I find balance in making time for the little things like family dinners at home, pajama Sundays, and at least 3 family vacations a year. My balance doesn’t come in free time, it comes in productive energy. I am happiest in motion, living life to the fullest and accomplishing all that I can.
