Even though more Americans are over the age of 65 than ever before, many younger people have now begun to consistently visit medical spas for anti-aging skin care treatments. This is the perfect time for you to consider exploring a career in medical aesthetics! In this twelve-day advanced esthetics course designed for nurses and licensed estheticians, you will learn about the history of the medispa industry as well as the treatments that make up the field, including exfoliation, microdermabrasion, microneedling, laser treatment, laser hair removal, and chemical peels.
Each morning, you’ll learn theory and protocol from a licensed aesthetic specialist or medical aesthetician through distance education. The afternoon component of training every day will include demonstrations and hands-on practice with models in a medspa environment. Treatments will include Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Clear + Brilliant, and BroadBand Light (BBL) lasers, HydraFacial, and Customized Chemical Peels.
If you’re interested in offering new skin care services to the guests in your salon or spa or considering the opportunity to work in a medical spa environment, this Advanced Esthetics course through the Institute of Beauty and Wellness is for you!
