We took a poll with our students at The Institute of Beauty & Wellness Madison and Milwaukee campuses and dove into which campus is the right fit for their lifestyle. Both Milwaukee and Madison city have so much to offer our students and we loved learning more about our students’ interests and preferences.
Let’s take a look at the results from our poll and some must visit locations in the cities to help you decide which is right for you.
MADISON CAMPUS
21% voted campus life & 79% voted city life
The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Madison location is located right by the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been said to have a “college town” feel to it. However, it can also feel like a smaller city due to the many local restaurants and cafes in the area.
ENJOY ITALIAN CLASSICS AT 107 STATE
This delicious Italian restaurant is located on State Street, about a 7-minute drive from The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Madison.
GRAB A CUP OF JOE AT BLACK LOCUST CAFE
This is a great spot to pick up a hot cup of coffee or yummy crepes before class starts!
GET INTO THE LOCAL SCHOOL SPIRIT
With UW-Madison right next to The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Madison, there are many opportunities to connect with students who attend UW-Madison. Tailgate and enjoy a Badger game at Camp Randall Stadium and Kohl Center!
ENJOY THE VIEW AT MEMORIAL UNION TERRACE
28% voted Lake Mendota & 72% voted Lake Michigan
There are multiple lakes in Madison and Lake Mendota is the largest among them all, located only a short walk away from Institute of Beauty and Wellness Madison. It serves as one of the many hangout spots for students in the area.
MILWAUKEE CAMPUS
Milwaukee is a relatively small city, but the largest in Wisconsin. This offers many incredible restaurants, social activities and museums. Our students love the city of Milwaukee and so do we!

This popular spot offers food and brews from Belgium, The Netherlands & Luxembourg plus a rooftop patio! It’s located right next door to The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee in the Historic Third Ward.
STROLL THROUGH THE MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM
The Milwaukee Art Museum is a great place to spend an afternoon during the weekend and take in the beautiful artwork.
GRAB LUNCH AT THE MILWAUKEE PUBLIC MARKET
The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee is located across the street from the popular Milwaukee Public Market. The Public Market has a handful of delicious restaurants, along with a coffee shop, spice shop, Milwaukee spirit wear store and more! The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee campus is conveniently located directly across the street from the market so you can enjoy a meal or pick up a coffee before class starts.
Soak in the Sun at Bradford Beach

Lake Michigan is one of the 5 Great Lake in the U.S., and we have direct access to it in Milwaukee. On a warm summer day, you can enjoy a beach day or a volleyball game on Bradford Beach or Atwater beach. The Milwaukee lakefront is just blocks from The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee campus so you can easily walk, bike or park your car nearby.
