Catwalk for a Cause

Pink Catwalk for Breast Cancer

Every October our students take their tools from the school’s clinic lab to the runway for Catwalk for a Cause, an event that celebrates creativity and execution while also raising awareness breast cancer in our communities.

This year our Milwaukee students made a bold statement at Jan Serr Studio, a historic penthouse with jaw-dropping views of Lake Michigan & Downtown Milwaukee; Madison students heightened the intimate vibe at Emily’s Ten Oaks Ranch with pink lighting and a packed house.

Students from all programs collaborated on fresh looks that blended each team’s interpretation of this year’s masquerade theme with current trends in hair, makeup, and nails. Top area salons (including Neroli, Scottfree, Carenza, Riah and more) served as our esteemed panel of judges and voted on their favorite looks from the evening that represented original thinking, flawless execution, and fierce style.

Local models, including breast cancer survivors, took to the runway while faculty, alumni and community gathered to share an evening that truly celebrated our students and their diverse representations of beauty. The Top 3 teams to earn the highest judge’s scores won a scholarship award, the grand prize totaling $1,000. See below for this year’s winning looks and student team members.

We’re proud to announce that we raised more than $7,000 in fashion show ticket sales, as well as raffle and student mini-service tickets, to benefit After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABDC), a non-profit organization that provides one-to-one emotional support to anyone impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis in our communities and around the world.

Here are some of our favorite looks, including grand prize winners:
