What Motivated You to Enroll at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee?
My passion to make people feel better about themselves by looking better is what made me pursue it as a career. After doing some research, I decided that the Institute of Beauty and Wellness was the best choice for me for many reasons. There are always guest educators, we have educational funds for continuous training, and the school organizes fashion shows and career fairs, which offer invaluable insights into the industry.
What is the Most Exciting Thing You Have Learned So Far?
Absolutely hair color. I love that we customize for each guest to better meet their hair color goal. Our instructors are always there to help us if we need assistance, and we also learn different techniques from various guest educators.
Where Do You See Yourself After Graduation?
I am currently working in a salon to gain experience. After I graduate, I plan to continue working in a salon to hone my skills. Eventually, I aspire to become an educator and establish my own salon.
What is One Piece of Advice You Would Give to Someone Looking to Pursue a Career in the Beauty/Wellness Industry?
Set a goal and be fearless in the pursuit of what makes you happy. If you love learning and helping others feel beautiful, don’t give up but become what inspires you. Find what you are passionate about and continue to work hard every day towards a successful future.
What is Your Favorite Aveda Product?
One of my favorite products is Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair, which repairs and protects from heat styling. It’s a leave-in conditioner that strengthens hair and is essential for anyone who styles their hair regularly.
Any Other Thoughts/Comments About Your Cosmetology Program at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee?
Coming from another country and not having any family in the United States, this Institute became a second home for me. I love working with our instructors and the friendships I have created with the other students. The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee is providing me with the basic knowledge I need for my future career, and working with different guest educators has allowed me to build relationships and contacts in the industry.
How Do You Balance Your Coursework with Other Responsibilities?
Balancing coursework with other responsibilities can be challenging, but I prioritize my time effectively. I make use of study schedules, take breaks when needed, and ensure to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Can You Share a Memorable Experience You’ve Had During Your Time at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee?
One memorable experience was participating in a hair color workshop with a renowned guest educator. It was inspiring to learn new techniques and apply them in a hands-on setting.
