We are excited to announce that we are adding Vish to The Institute of Beauty and Wellness Milwaukee’s cosmetology clinic floor and program. Never heard of it? No worries, we’re sharing with you all the information you need to know about this fantastic new hair coloring tool.
What is Vish?
Vish is a hair color management system that offers numerous benefits, including:
- Recording color formulas with precision
- Capturing 100% of hair color services
- Creates awareness of hair color inventory
- Eliminating hair color waste
With all these incredible benefits, we knew we had to incorporate Vish into our cosmetology program at The Institute of Beauty and Wellness for our students.

How does Vish work?
Vish uses a premium Bluetooth scale that connects to the Vish Color Bar app. Students place their hair color bowl on top of the scale, and Vish will weigh and measure the exact hair color being used on the guest. The data gathered will then automatically send to the Vish Front Desk for an incredibly easy and accurate checkout. Let’s dive deeper into how each of Vish’s tools works.
Vish Color Bar
At the color bar, students measure the amount of hair color used during a guest’s service by weighing the hair color on the Bluetooth scale. Vish will calculate the exact weight and measurements. Students can use color formulations from guests’ previous appointments or create new hair color formulations depending on the desired outcome.
Vish Front Desk
When students complete the hair color service, the exact formula and service details from the scale are sent to Vish Front Desk. Our Aveda Advisors will use the Vish Front Desk Widget to accurately charge for both the services rendered and the product dispensed.
Vish Dashboard
The product usage is then tracked to identify how much product was wasted and how much revenue was lost from wasted product. This information helps us in many ways, such as decreasing unnecessary product waste and educating our team and students on inventory control. Vish also provides analytics on student performance, color service profitability, and stock replenishment. These analytics are extremely helpful in understanding how we can better educate our students and create an environmentally friendly institute.
