BARBERing CURRICULUM
The Madison Barbering Program offers a comprehensive, 1,000 hours designed to cultivate immersive, hands-on training. Guided by industry-accredited professionals, students gain expertise in precision hair cutting, razor sculpting, modern and traditional shaving, texture services, and product knowledge, all while developing refined client experience skills and professional etiquette. Our curriculum is continuously updated to reflect the industry trends while honoring timeless barbering techniques, ensuring you’re fully prepared to pass the state licensing exam with will enable you to work as a licensed barber in the state of Wisconsin.
Course Overview
At our Madison campus, the 1,000-hour Aveda Barbering certificate program is meticulously designed to transcend state educational mandates, fully equipping our students for careers in the beauty industry. More than 700 of these hours are dedicated to hands-on practical experience, providing students the invaluable opportunity to work directly with guests in our Aveda clinic lab floor. Additionally, our program includes an externship component, allowing students to immerse themselves in the real-world environment of a professional barbershop or salon.

*To become licensed, the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services requires completion of 1000 clock hours at an accredited barbering program. Our additional clock hours requirement is devoted to Guest Education.
