Hairstylist

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of hairstyling techniques, trends, and products, coupled with a passion for helping guests achieve their desired looks. As a Hairstylist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of services, including cutting, styling, coloring, facial waxing, manicures, pedicures, and chemical treatments, while ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, sanitation, and guest satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Consult with guests to understand their hair care needs, preferences, and desired styles.
• Provide expert recommendations on suitable hairstyles, cuts, colors, and treatments based on clients’ hair type, face shape, and lifestyle.
• Perform a variety services, including manicures, pedicures, facial waxing, cutting, styling, blowouts, coloring, highlighting, and chemical treatments such as perms or relaxers.
• Stay updated on current hair trends, techniques, and product developments to offer guests the latest styles and innovations.
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene in the salon, including proper disinfection of tools, equipment, and workstations.
• Maintain accurate guest records, including notes on services provided, products used, and guest preferences for future reference.
• Educate guests on proper hair care techniques, product usage, and at-home maintenance to help them maintain their hairstyles between salon visits.
• Uphold professional standards of conduct, including punctuality, reliability, and professionalism in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
• Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive beauty services and create a cohesive salon experience for guests.
• Attend continuing education to expand skills, stay current with industry trends, and maintain licensure requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a current and valid cosmetology license issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).
• Ability to conceptualize and execute creative and innovative hairstyles that complement guests’ features, preferences, and lifestyles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of various hair care products, tools, and equipment, and their appropriate usage for different hair types, textures, and conditions.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Adherence to all state regulations and professional standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all aspects of the job.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, use hands and arms for repetitive motions, and exert physical effort when performing services.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and 2 Saturdays a month, to accommodate guest schedules.
