The Institutes of Beauty and Wellness annually celebrate Earth Month with two evenings of stunning, sustainable fashion designed by the industry’s best up-and-coming beauty professionals, with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting clean water around the globe. Students across all programs are invited to collaborate.
Current students across all programs, and our creative community, are invited to join forces to create looks designed completely from repurposed materials. From found objects sourced at local junkyards to materials re-discovered within personal stash bins, sustainable fashion levels up in a way that begs to be experienced!
Fully conceptualized looks from hair-to-toes are judged by beauty industry professionals, including Milwaukee and Madison-based salon owners. Teams are judged on creativity, gown* construction, hair, makeup, and visual cohesiveness of each model. The winning student team is rewarded.
Audience members are invited to cheer on their favorite looks, view showcased fashion pieces up-close, indulge in services provided by Institute students including hand massages and makeup touchups, and hangout with beauty colleagues and professionals in a relaxed fun environment.
100% of proceeds from ticket sales benefit a local charity partner and Aveda’s global partner Charity:Water.
Through the contributions of our guests, students, and faculty, The Institute of Beauty and Wellness exceeded all expectations in our 2023 fundraising for the Urban Ecology Center. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity that allows us to make a positive impact on our community. Thank you for all that you do to advance our mission and create a brighter future for all!
Every October, cosmetology students from both campuses team up with a creative professional panel to create themed hair and makeup looks on runway models, including a final run featuring breast cancer survivors. 100% of proceeds from the ticket sales benefit ABCD (After Breast Cancer Diagnosis).

Edwin Neill II lived the Aveda mission and was one of the greatest role models in the Aveda Network. This award emphasizes Edwin’s belief in Edward Demming’s Philosophy of team versus individual achievement. Recipients of the award are chosen by a group of Aveda Network Leaders for artistic accomplishments as well as a commitment to make a difference in the beauty industry and the world.
Institute students are sought after in the community! Many of whom have leant a helping hand with clinic floor programs, guest speaker events, and fashion show fundraisers at community institutions including Children’s Hospital, Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, Mount Mary University and more! Paid and volunteer opportunities are announced to students on a rolling basis.
