INSTRUCTOR: SAMANTHA | PROGRAM: COSMETOLOGY
WHERE WERE YOU BEFORE BECOMING A COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTOR?
I worked with an amazing team of stylists at CV Hair Company in Lake Mills.
WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PART ABOUT BEING AN EDUCATOR?
When a student expresses to you that your class is a place they feel safe and love to be. Maybe that means it’s a place where they can escape from their lives, or it’s a place where they aren’t afraid to take risks and learn. Either way, it’s a great feeling.
IN YOUR OPINION, ALL COSMETOLOGISTS SHOULD KNOW THAT _________.
Your learning should never end.
WHAT IS ONE OF THE MOST FUN OR INTERESTING EXPERIENCES YOU HAVE HAD AT AIM?
I loved when my barber class fill the class skeleton with veins, tissues and organs.
It made learning so much fun.
IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT IS THE BIGGEST POINT OF DIFFERENCE AVEDA INSTITUTE MADISON OFFERS?
At the Aveda Institute Madison we have smaller class sizes; it’s like we’re a small family.
Also, our location is on the UW Madison campus, so when students go on the clinic floor, they are booked with young clients that want updated fashionable styles. These styles fill our students’ portfolios with amazing, unforgettable work.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE CONSIDERING AVEDA INSTITUTE MADISON AS A CAREER OPTION?
My advice would be that great things never come from comfort zones. If you’re uncomfortable, then you’re learning.
FILL IN THE BLANK: “ON MY DAYS OFF, I LIKE TO___.”
On my days off I like to hunt with my husband and spend time with my son Oliver.
