Self Care for Migraines, Headaches and Sinus Pain

Some migraine studies estimate that 13 percent of adults in the U.S. population have migraines, and 2-3 million migraine suffers are chronic. Almost 5 million in the U.S. experience at least one migraine attack per month, while more than 11 million people blame migraines for causing moderate to severe disability. Kelly Lott, the founder of Migraine Miracle, recently came to the Institute of Beauty and Wellness to teach prenatal massage. She gave us 5 tips on how you can help to alleviate migraine pain yourself.

1.Press thumbs on bone underneath the eyebrow (orbital ridge). Push up or lean into thumbs

2. Take all finger tips and push in on eyebrow bone

3. Press in on either side of notril, or sinus area, and apply pressure

4. Pinch in webbing in between thumb and index finger (Do not try if you are, or may be pregnant)

5. Put fingers in area of pain underneath occipital bone (bone situated at back and lower part of skull) and roll head into fingers
