An AVEDA Beauty School

We believe that engaging our students in learning experiences outside of the classroom increases motivation, inspires students to thrive in their fields, and allows for more vivid course material recall, which improves academic performance. We invite alumni back to share in these opportunities as well as we believe learning is a lifelong pursuit and we truly want to see every graduate succeed in their field.

The guest artists we attract are experts in the beauty industry, who teach both classic and trend-forward hair, skin, nails and massage techniques. From Aveda Global Educators to world-renowned stylists, we provide an amazingly well-rounded education for our students. Recent guests from the past two years have included Janell Geason, Tracey Freeman, Tatum Neill and Ivan Zoot.

This past week Aveda Guest Artist Susan Ford visited our campuses to guide cosmetology students through a demonstration on trending butterfly and shag cuts. Check out the jaw-dropping results below!

A typical guest artist visit starts with a morning lecture wherein the educator may demonstrate a certain technique. The afternoon is then spent in a hands-on workshop practicing the techniques learned on live models or mannequin heads.

We’re able to maintain a series of guest educators through a fund that grows by gratuity from clinic floor guests. Where a typical salon or spa accepts gratuity with guest payment, which would then transfer to the person who performed the service, our guests have the option to donate towards our education fund–under the name of the student who performed the service. The “Top 10” students who generate the most gratuity then earn the additional opportunity to work one-on-one with guest artists.
