Meet Vish: Our New Hair Coloring Tool
in NewsWe are so excited to announce that we are adding Vish to The Institute of Beauty and Wellness. Never heard of it? No worries, we’re sharing with you all the information you need to know about this new fantastic hair coloring tool.
What is Vish?
Vish is a hair color management system that has numerous benefits including:
- Recording color formulas with precision
- Capturing 100% of hair color services
- Creates awareness of hair color inventory
- Eliminating hair color waste
With all these incredible benefits Vish has to offer, we knew we had to incorporate in into our Institute of Beauty and Wellness cosmetology program for our students.
By eliminating waste, Vish aligns with the Aveda mission, which The Institute of Beauty and Wellness strives to embodies in all things we do.

How Vish Works
Vish uses a premium Bluetooth scale that connects to the Vish Color Bar app. Students place their hair color bowl on top of the scale, and Vish will weigh and measure the exact hair color being used on the guest. The data gathered will then automatically send to the Vish Front Desk for an incredibly easy and accurate checkout. Let’s go more into detail about what exactly happens with each of Vish tools.
We decided to partner with Vish to allow our students to see color formulation and to have a better color result for the guest, while minimizing product waste which aligns with our values here at the Institute. It’s color education that is mission aligned.

Vish Color Bar
At the color bar the student measures the amount of hair color that is used during our guest’s service by weighing the hair color on the Bluetooth scale. Vish will calculate the exact weight and measurements. The student has the ability to use color formulations from our guests’ previous appointments or create new hair color formulations depending on what our guests want to achieve.
Vish Front Desk
When student completes the hair color service, the exact formula, and service details from the scale are sent to Vish Front Desk. Our Aveda Advisors will use VISH Front Desk Widget to be able to accurately charging for both the services rendered and the product dispensed.
Vish Dashboard
The product usage is then tracked to identify how much product was wasted and how much revenue was lost from wasted product. Knowing this information will help us in many ways such as decreasing unnecessary product waste and allowing us to educate our team and students on inventory control Vish also has analytics on student performance, color service profitability, and stock replenishment. These analytics will be extremely helpful in understanding how we can better educate our students and create environmentally friendly Institute.
