In the Spotlight: Aveda Global Educators

These educators frequent our clinic floor thanks in part to our education fund and we wanted to highlight a few for you.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”17906″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Antoinette Beenders: Beenders is the Senior Vice President of Creative and Global Creative Director of Aveda. She’s originally from London and has worked hard to land jobs both for television shows and high-fashion shows like Miu Miu and Prada. She currently commutes between London and Minneapolis, as Aveda’s headquarters are in Minneapolis.

Antoinette has worked with numerous celebrity clients and has been featured on TV programs such as “The BBC Style Challenge” and “The Clothes Show,” and created the hair for “Burn the Floor,” an international dance show designed by Mamma Mia producer Anthony Van Laast.  Her magazine editorial work includes credits for Vogueand Glamour, among many others, and she was named one of London’s 13 top hair gurus by the London Evening Standard. Beenders has worked on fashion shows for Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce and Gabbana, Hussein Chalayan, and Clements Ribeiro among others.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”17914″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Ricardo Dinis: Dinis is the Aveda Spain Creative Director and has worked with Aveda Canada in the past. He has worked in many hair shows and has even worked onstage with Vidal Sassoon. He specializes in hair cutting and will be visiting the Aveda Institute Madison in September!

Ricardo has participated in high-profile hair shows across the world (including working onstage with Vidal himself, as well as Tim Hartley’s “Protégé” in 2007). Ricardo contributes to magazines and television with hair advice and tips and created the Aveda Spring/Summer 2009 Creative Collection in collaboration with Antoinette Beenders.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”17908″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Tippi Shorter: Shorter is the Aveda Global Artistic Hair Director for Textured Hair and travels the country to teach students and professionals alike how to work with textured hair.

Since her introduction into the beauty industry, Tippi’s hairstyles have topped the shoulders of beauty icons such as Beyonce, Iman, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson, and pop icons including Rihanna and Lady GaGa, among other actresses, musicians, and supermodels.  However, when asked about her career as a well known celebrity hairstylist, Tippi humbly responds, “I am not a celebrity hairstylist. I am a hairstylist who happens to have the opportunity to work with many wonderful celebrities.” In addition to her celebrity clientele, her beauty transformations have graced the covers and editorial pages of notable fashion magazines including Elle, Essence, In Style, and Vanity Fair.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”17909″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Allen Ruiz: Ruiz is a global guest educator based out of Austin, Texas. Our sister school, The Institute of Beauty and Wellness welcomed Ruiz earlier this year for a workshop in updos.

Allen is the owner of Jackson Ruiz SalonSpa based in Austin, Texas, and has worked with Aveda over the last 18 years. As a Global Guest Artist, show lead for New York Fashion Week, Editorial Stylist and an Aveda Purefessional, Allen is a passionate artist who has honed his skill and talent in every facet of the beauty industry. Collaborating on Aveda global campaigns, education collections and manufacturer advisory panels, Allen Ruiz is a pure voice within the industry. Allen has enjoyed many awards, among them 2007 North American Hair Dresser of the Year, and one of Latina Magazine’s “Top Ten Latino Hair Stylists in America”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”17910″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Janell Geason: Aveda Global Makeup Educator is s known for her technical expertise as well as her innate ability to connect with and inspire her students. Her celebrity client list is impressive, and her work can be seen in publications such as Elle and Lucky magazines.

Janell has the ability to view Aveda Makeup as a business. Her approach to education is to create a learning environment which inspires participants to have a command of Aveda Makeup and return to the salon ready to grow sales and services in the makeup and skin care domains.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”17911″ border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Ian Michael Black: Aveda North American Technical Director, is recognized around the world for his cutting-edge color techniques. He is passionate about hair color and pays particular attention to techniques.

Ian’s demonstrations show that the application of color can change shape and perception of cut, therefore altering the look completely.
