5 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION TIPS TO CREATE THE BEST VERSION OF YOU:

We have all heard the same common New Year’s Resolutions goals year in and year out. While these are great goals to have, and often ones that people stick with—why not change it up a bit this year? We can all agree that we want to be the best version of ourselves–regardless of what that looks like. So, to do that, we have to think outside of the box. This year, it is all about you and how to make your future dreams, goals, and lifestyles come true! With the right mentality and intentions—you will be on the fast-track to your next chapter!

We can all agree that 2020 and 2021 were challenging years in many ways. While we may have learned a lot from them, we are ready for something different. Many people are starting to change their focus to what really matters and how they can transform their lives for the better. Whether that be working on positivity, starting your own business, changing careers, or investing in the things that really matter to you—the best thing to do is simply start! At the Institute of Beauty and Wellness, we are all for embracing change and taking the next step. What better time to start than at the beginning of the year?

1.) Start Your Personal Growth Journey:

Motivation must always come from within. Regardless of what your personal growth looks like in your eyes, it should always start with doing what you feel is best. Growth does not always need to be a large and overwhelming task. Actually, starting out with small, daily tasks can help you to further achieve your long-term goals. Some examples would be, set aside time to work out tonight, write up your weekly planner, drink a gallon of water today, go to sleep by 10p.m., or say at least one kind of affirmation to yourself today.

It is always beneficial to start somewhere! Start thinking of how you see your personal growth. Is it going back to school? Starting a new career? Building muscle? Managing stress? However large or small a goal does not matter because it is YOUR goal! Personal growth can look and feel different to everyone, but it is a great New Year’s Resolution to have if you are looking to achieve true, personal growth this upcoming year.

2.) Take Your Passion, and Learn Something New About It:

Once you have established your own personal growth and the goals you have, now you can start implementing them! The best way to start is through learning more about what interests you. If you have a passion for wellness, research different kinds of wellness activities to see what interests you. There are many ways to get started on your journey without feeling overwhelmed.

3.) Let Your Confidence Shine:

Now that you have your goals and the necessary information—you can build on your confidence! It is always challenging to try something new or different, regardless of what that is. Whatever your journey looks like—you have to be 100% committed on your ability to achieve it. Unfortunately, no one else can build that confidence for you. If you are passionate about something, you are absolutely capable of turning that vision into reality!

Self-affirmations are always a great way to work on building up your confidence. Saying two or three right away in the morning and before you go to bed can completely change the way you start to view yourself. Some favorites are:

  • I overcome fears by following my dreams.
  • My possibilities are endless.
  • I embrace my full potential.
  • I belong in any space I walk into.

 

These are great for boosting your confidence because you are able to speak these words into existence by believing them yourself. In order for you to feel worthy of change and growth, you have to believe that you are capable of change and growth. Growing your confidence is the first step to making positive moves in your life.

4.) Don’t Forget to Give Yourself Some Self-Care:

In the beauty industry we are all about providing services to our guests—but we cannot forget about ourselves. In addition to positive affirmations, we challenge you to start giving back to yourself in both the small and large ways. Do not be afraid to get your hair done, reserve a massage, try a new skincare line, update your wardrobe, try a new diet or exercise routine—whatever brings your joy and peace in your life.

Tending to yourself will also help with your confidence as well. Providing yourself with opportunities that make you look and feel great will naturally work to boost your confidence as well. Do not be afraid to get a little selfish to help you grow into your best 2022 version of yourself. Self-love can also look like demanding more from yourself. If you are not currently happy with your job or where your journey is heading, do not be afraid to start making some changes! There are many resources available to help you make the changes you want—this is also self-love!

5.) Start With Successful Habits:

There are many ways to incorporate successful habits into your daily life. One of the biggest ways to be successful is through accountability and consistency. This helps to hold you accountable to those goals that you made earlier in your resolution process. This will look different for everyone, but some ways to really evolve yourself as an individual is to stick to a routine. Push yourself to get up at the same time every day, get ahead of your studies by staying on top of a professional calendar, provide yourself with a balance of work and personal life.

Another helpful tip is to just get started! All successful individuals started with goals and plans, too. However, they started their journey. They took the leap of faith and tried something new. What better time to start than the new year to take that leap of faith?
